Admin in one group, regular member in another — how roles work

You run your own group on Tuesdays and play in a friend's group on Thursdays — and you do not want anyone to have to guess who the organizer is. In B-Admin-Time that is no problem, because a role does not belong to the account, but to membership in a specific group.

A role is assigned to a group

In each group, every member has one of three roles: Owner, Admin or Member. The same person can be an Admin in one group and a regular Member in another — every group has its own settings, its own member list, its own settlements and its own ranking, so one does not affect the other. You see all the groups you belong to on a single “My groups” list.

What each role can do

A Member signs up for sessions and settles up with the cashier. They can create sessions only if an admin grants them the “Can create sessions” permission — full admin rights are not needed for that. An Admin manages the group: changes settings and visibility, invites people, handles join requests, edits members, and also blocks them and removes them from the group. The Owner has the same permissions as an admin and can additionally transfer ownership of the group.

There is always exactly one Owner

Every group has exactly one owner — usually the person who created it. They can transfer ownership to another active member: the new owner takes over the role, and the previous one becomes a group admin, so they do not lose access. Until ownership is transferred, the owner cannot leave the group.

How many admins you can have

The number of admins in one group depends on the plan: on Lite it is one person, on Regular up to three, and on Pro there is no limit (the owner counts as an admin). The limit applies to the number of admins in a given group, not to the number of groups in which you can hold different roles.

Frequently asked questions

Can I be an admin in several groups at once?

Yes. A role is assigned separately to each group, so in some you can be an admin and in others a regular member.

What happens to my permissions when I transfer ownership of the group?

You become an admin of that group, and the new owner takes over the owner role.

Can the owner leave the group?

They first have to transfer ownership to another active member of the group.

Who can promote a member to admin?

A group admin or owner. The number of admins depends on the plan: Lite — 1, Regular — 3, Pro — no limit.
